Infinity Ward has announced the 6th installment of the Call of Duty franchise, and the 2nd to be set in modern times, will be released by "holiday season 2009". The game will be released under Activision as before. There has been no word on the plot of the game or the final title.

definitely before Christmas, especially if history is any measure of Infinity Ward's marketing strategy
Cool, that game is going to have to be something special to beat COD4 (in terms of multiplayer anyway).
Hopefully COD6 will have a single player which is of a decent length.
